Clear answers for first-timers, returning guests, and anyone planning their MASKARADE weekend.
01 · The essentials
What Is Rubbout?
Rubbout is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit rubber fetish weekend held in Vancouver. The program combines social gatherings, nightlife, community activities, and spaces to connect with people from near and far.
MASKARADE takes place April 15–18, 2027.
02 · What to wear
Do I Need Rubber?
Rubber is the weekend’s shared thread and we encourage guests to make it part of their look. Specific venues may publish dress expectations. If you are new or still building a wardrobe, come thoughtfully and participate in the spirit of the event.
03 · Participation
Can I Attend Alone?
Absolutely. Many attendees arrive solo. Welcome gatherings, daytime socials, and volunteer-led activities are especially good places to meet people without the pressure of nightlife.
04 · Community standards
What About Consent and Privacy?
Ask before touching people or their gear. Respect every answer immediately. Do not photograph or record anyone without clear permission. Event-specific camera policies may be stricter and will always take priority.
05 · Registration
What Should I Bring?
- Government-issued photo ID
- Your pass confirmation
- Proof that your online waiver is complete
The names on your pass, identification, and waiver must match.
06 · Accessibility
How Do I Request Support?
Venue access details will be published with the final schedule. Contact the crew early with accessibility questions so we can provide accurate information and discuss reasonable support.
