Rubbout XXXV · MASKARADE

About Rubbout

Born in Vancouver and sustained by volunteers, Rubbout has spent thirty-five years making space for rubber, friendship, play, and belonging.

01 · Our story

A Weekend With History

Rubbout began in 1992 and grew into a destination weekend shaped by the people who attend it. The event welcomes local and visiting rubber enthusiasts into a shared experience that balances nightlife with genuine community.

02 · How we work

Volunteer-Run, Not-for-Profit

Rubbout is organized by community volunteers. Pass donations, Gear Swap proceeds, sponsorship, and partner support help cover the real costs of venues, production, safety, and programming.

04 · What we believe

No Titles. No Hierarchy.

Rubbout does not hold competitions or award community titles. We want attendees to meet on equal footing, express themselves freely, and build connection without status getting in the way.

Why MASKARADE?

MASKARADE explores what we reveal, what we protect, and who we become when the ordinary world falls away. Venetian masquerade meets industrial brutalism and latex futurism—chrome, mirrors, velvet, chains, and translucent vinyl framing one invitation: Unmask Your Truth.
